The Hungarian F3 Grand Prix 2025 will be remembered as a high-intensity weekend for Théophile Naël. On the sinuous and technical Hungaroring circuit, the young French driver once again demonstrated his dazzling progress with two Top 5 finishes and crucial championship points.
Qualifying – A courageous top 5 in a tightly-packed field
Friday’s qualifying session, held on a dry track contrary to forecasts, got off to a difficult start for Théophile. A difficult free practice session had seen him finish 23rd, more than a second off the best time. But, thanks to some careful analysis work with his engineer, the trend was reversed.
The result was a solid fifth place, just 0.012 seconds off the top 3, demonstrating his composure and ability to adapt. This result also ensured him 8th place on the inverted grid for Saturday’s sprint race, an ideal position from which to play for position.
Sprint Race – Resisting chaos
Saturday saw an intense sprint race, marked by numerous incidents and a late neutralization. Théophile Naël started 8th and held off his rivals, notably in a rough duel with Noël León (Prema), who was sanctioned after the race for contentious contact.
Despite this loss of position, the Stéphanois finished 9th and added 2 points to the championship, a good result given the tension in the pack. Further proof of his racing maturity and composure in chaotic moments.
Main race – Brilliant in the rain
On Sunday, it was time for the real challenge: the rain invited itself to the Hungaroring. The start was under the safety car, visibility was reduced, and the track was treacherous… yet Théophile made a name for himself. Starting 5th, he maintained his position in a race where his rivals made numerous mistakes.
With an imperfectly set-up single-seater that made driving unstable, Théophile once again demonstrated his technique: precise trajectories, intelligent defenses and zero errors. The result: a brilliant 5th place, hard won in extreme conditions.
Discreet but decisive support from 321 Perform
Behind the scenes of this performance lies the fundamental work of Xavier Feuillée and the 321 Perform team, who provide Théophile with mental and physical preparation. Thanks to them, he is gaining in resilience, stress management and consistency, essential qualities at this level of competition.
🎙️ “Working in continuity with professionals allows me to reach new levels every weekend,” confides Théophile.
Taking stock and heading for Monza – Top 5 championship in sight
The 2025 Hungarian F3 Grand Prix confirms one thing: Théophile Naël is a top-class driver, capable of performing in adversity as well as under pressure. Thanks to his results, he consolidates his 7th place in the championship, just 10 points from the Top 5.
👉 Next stop: Monza, last round of the season. On this mythical, fast and strategic track, Théophile and his team are aiming for a final podium finish. Nothing’s decided yet, but the momentum is there.
