On the attack until the final lap

From 4th to 6th September, Théophile was back in action in FIA Formula 3 at Monza for the penultimate round of the season. Starting 28th in both races, he had to fight his way back through the field. Finishing without points, he leaves Italy with lessons to learn, but also with a fighting spirit to build upon ahead of Madrid.

Qualifying that complicates the weekend

After setting the 15th fastest time in free practice, he headed into qualifying, which was split into two ten-minute groups. Unfortunately, his only flying lap was deleted for exceeding track limits at the first chicane.

Without a valid lap time, he had to start from 28th position on both Saturday and Sunday, leaving him with two recovery drives to put together.

Seventeen places gained in the Sprint

On Saturday, Théophile immediately went on the offensive. Despite safety car periods, he made progress through the pack and reached tenth place with a few laps remaining.

He eventually crossed the line in 11th position, just 0.490 seconds off the points. Having gained 17 positions in 18 laps, he delivered a comeback that showcased his attacking instinct and his determination right down to the final lap.

Another comeback cut short on Sunday

The following day, he gained 8 places on the very first lap and continued his fightback to reach 14th place. However, a collision with Ugo Ugochukwu earned him a ten-second penalty, before an incident with Noah Stromsted damaged his front wing.

Forced to pit, he rejoined in 28th and fought his way back up to 17th place. A disappointing result, but Théophile kept fighting until the very end.

Madrid: aiming to get back on the championship podium

Fourth in the standings with 75 points, Théophile is just one point away from third place. He will give everything to reclaim it during the season finale, from 11th to 13th September.

He will return to a track that left him with good feelings during the August tests. Certain sections of the circuit reminded him of Macau and Monaco, where he feels very comfortable.

Three races to finish strong

With two qualifying sessions, one Sprint, and two main races, he will face an exceptional format in Madrid. With up to 67 points up for grabs over the weekend, he will have one final opportunity to make a difference and conclude the season on the overall podium.
