Barcelona Pre-Season Test
Barcelona: three days of testing, and a final day concluded in P1
12 février 2026
After three intense days of pre-season testing in Barcelona, Théophile Naël and Campos Racing leave Catalonia with a strong signal: a final morning topped off, and above all, a significantly consolidated working base before the championship opens.
Three days to build a solid foundation before the start
In the Formula 3 paddock, testing is never just a simple time hunt. In Barcelona, the objective was clear: validate the fundamentals, multiply comparisons, and accumulate as much data as possible, from the first installation lap to long runs in "race" conditions.
Mechanical setups, operating windows, understanding of tires, procedures, starts, relay management... everything was thoroughly examined. And in this context, the team progressed in the right direction, session after session, with a collective and structured work dynamic.

The rhythm establishes itself, as does the confidence
From the first sessions, Théophile showed a real ability to get into the rhythm, with a clean and methodical approach: building performance, rather than overdoing it. The program alternated between setup work and sequences more representative of the race weekend, a necessary step as they approach Melbourne.
A final morning in P1, to finish on a very good note
The highlight of these three days came during the last morning: Théophile set the best time at 1’27’’525, in a session where the track offered the best grip conditions. A clear performance, at the right moment, which rewards the intensity of the work done from the start of the test.
« Excellent result, very good rhythm. We tested a lot of things on the car… So far, these three days have been really very good. »
Beyond the ranking, this P1 is a marker: that of a package coming together, a team executing well, and a driver finishing the week with a solid reference in hand.

Heading to Melbourne: first leg of the championship on March 6–8
Next step: Melbourne, first leg of the FIA F3 championship, from March 6 to 8. A unique circuit, little running, lots of uncertainties, and therefore maximum demands right from the first session.
The essentials are here: the work has been done, in the right direction, with a visible rise in performance and a conclusion in P1 that gives momentum. Now, it’s time for the concrete: the season opener, and the goal of converting this preparation into results.
