Little by little, Théophile Naël is making progress towards his first single-seater success. With a comfortable championship lead over the competition, the French driver took another step forward in Valencia in his quest for the F4 Spain 2023 crown.

Third in Race 1 on Saturday, then runner-up with important points, Théophile Naël leapt at the start of Race 2 on Sunday to take command of the event from his closest rival for the title. At the end of a well-controlled heat, despite the neutralizing conditions, the Stéphanois scored his eighth win of the season and was ideally placed to finish in Race 3.

However, a missed take-off and a penalty for overshooting the runway limits prevented Théophile Naël from securing the title in Valencia, pushing back the deadline for the Barcelona final in just under a month’s time.

A word from Theophile: “Race 2 wasn’t easy with the two safety cars. I tried to manage the restarts as best I could. I’m obviously satisfied. We did another great job with the team and the car was perfect. A mistake on my part in race 3 deprived us of a better result. But we’re not going to give up until the end.”

The final round of the Spanish F4 Championship takes place in Barcelona on November 11 and 12.
